Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July to everyone! It's a lovely 71 degree day here in NE Ohio and we are enjoying it! I'd like to thank all of our troops and their families for their sacrifice and service as we remember the foundations of our nation today. Having been an Army brat and an Army wife for a short time, I know first hand what it's like and I appreciate all of you.

Texas and Oklahoma were great. Thank you, GASC customers...what a fun show that was! My parents' anniversary went off with very few hitches, the side fell off the cake and the flowers were all wrong, but thanks to quick-thinking and "skills", we got it fixed so no one knew. It was a lovely day.

We had shows in Ft. Lauderdale and Raleigh in June, which included a lovely layover at Walt Disney World...break my heart. ;) It's a tough job sometimes...

I've started my finance and accounting class. There was a reason I got a BA in English and math was it, so this class is going to be interesting, to say the least! So far, so good...I appreciate any and all prayers and pixie dust to see me through the next 6 weeks!

I've finally been able to get my hands on some *real* 3,4,&5X v-necks, so I'll be adding those to the site ASAP. For those from GASC-Arlington who emailed me, please be patient a little longer...we're having some issues with website coding and as soon as those are resolved, I'll get the email off to you!

Is it Summer YET???

So, here it is, after Memorial Day, we ought to be able to plant some things in the garden right? RIGHT??? Not in Northeast Ohio, thank you very much. We had a frost advisory last night. FROST. My dryer is kaput so I've been hanging clothes on the line and nearly had frostbite bringing them in last night, can you believe it???

At least I'll be toasty warm in Oklahoma and Texas next week, on my way to the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington. This is a new show for me, so I'm excited! I'll also be celebrating my parents' 50th wedding anniversary which is just amazing to me. It seems like yesterday, I was pregnant with my first child (who is now 22 years old), celebrating with my grandparents for their 50th. Where does time go? And...can you believe it's almost June already??

I'm adding a fun new shirt to the mix at the Texas show and hopefully, I'll finally get some photos up. I've really been overwhelmed with health stuff (for those counting, I've now been in some kind of brace/boot on my left foot for 9 months...I think it's ready to give birth :( and I've just been diagnosed with sleep apnea. My CPAP machine should be here soon and then THINK of all the energy and brain power I'll have when I'm not oxygen deprived! LOL!

My quote for today: "Be mindful of where you put your attention. The shape of your life will follow." (wow)

First day of Spring! (???)

Although my calendar said it was Spring today, the 2 inches of snow covering my gardens hardly made me feel like throwing the windows open! It certainly has been an odd weather year and I'm ready for it to melt and move on. I finished my first Master's class with an A, so that was a huge relief. We are getting ready to hit the road for 3 shows in 3 weeks, plus I start an economics class next week, so plenty of excitement around Gray Gables!

I've added 2 new homeschooling shirts to the website and a brand new scrapping design that glows in the dark! Photos of shorts/skorts will be up soon and hopefully so will the temperatures so we can start WEARING shorts!

A new year, a new adventure

In 2 days, I'll be starting a Master's program. SCARY. I haven't done any academic work in 15 years and here I am, a homeschooling, class-taking, business-running Mom. I guess I'll sleep when I'm dead. The constant tape running in my head is, "I have SO much to do!" Between inventory, tie dying, reading class materials, my gosh-awful filing mess, scanning an 18" stack of receipts, and keeping the girls' school updated, I'm overwhelmed! I always seem to pull it off, though, somehow. Who knew I'd be pulling all-nighters at 43 years old?
